MEET GRETCHEN SCHAUFFLER
THE LOVE STORY
"In 1999, driven by optimism, margaritas, and mad crazy love, Scott and I became business partners. A year later, we pumped and filled 45,000 mini-paint pouches (a semi-truck load) with my magical colors in our dining room with the help of our kids, their friends, our family, and friends..."
HER PATH LESS TRAVELED
A premier professional with more than two decades of experience, Gretchen is best known for creating the widely successful Devine Color paint, 'Color Therapy From The Northwest,' a new-age collection that featured custom-blend paint palettes.
First available to the public in the late 1990s, Gretchen's paint became an overnight success and attained global recognition for revolutionizing the paint industry. She has styled more than 4,000 homes and commercial projects using her talent and intuition to deliver energy and vitality to the spaces with color.
Gretchen's professional success story as a Latina entrepreneur is rooted in her background as a U.S. immigrant from Puerto Rico when she began her first color paint collection, Devine Color, in the garage of her home in 1998.
Her brand was acquired by paint industry titans Valspar Paint and Sherwin Williams, the former of which she held the position as a brand consultant. Following the brand's elimination due to Sherwin Williams's acquisition of Valspar, Gretchen walked away with a five-year non-compete in the paint industry until 2020, thus ending her chapter with Devine Color.
While awaiting her re-entry into the paint industry, Gretchen launched DIP Design Is Personal in the spring of 2018. She provides easy and customizable DIY home improvement products sold across all major online U.S. retailers, including Target, Wayfair, Home Depot, Lowes, and Amazon.DIP Color Paint aims to provide customers with the most seamless paint system under the rainbow, and it will also be the first-ever paint gallon to be sold in a recyclable bag.
Her exclusive ultra-dense color formulas in an intuitive master paint palette are better than any paint Gretchen has created before."It has been a long-time dream of mine to offer paint in a bag, and I am excited to make that dream a reality with DIP Color Paint, finally," said Gretchen.
"I first thought of the idea to put paint in a bag after buying a bagged margarita cocktail from Costco in 1998. Around the same time, I was beginning my paint brand, 'Devine Color,' and I found success using small pouches to offer sample paint to my customers. The Devine Mini Paint Pouch was an easy way for my customers, especially women, to sample my colors, build trust in my brand, and feel empowered in the ability to paint their homes. Despite this success, I could never expand on my sample pouches to replace the full standard paint gallon tin can. Now with my exquisite DIP Color Paint and our revolutionary gallon bags, I have made my wish come true."
DIP Color Consultancy's virtual appointments will help guide customers on a journey to pick the perfect paint color from Gretchen's new master palette.
